Repair
One of the most common questions with silicone is: how can I fix it once it gets sticky?
Try wiping the coating with acetone or alcohol (isopropyl alcohol or rubbing alcohol). Do not leave the alcohol on for more than a few minutes or it can damage the silicone beyond repair.
Members of our zero waste community report that 70% alcohol based sanitizer gels work particularly well for removing this sticky layer. Sometimes you have to repeat the procedure 2 or 3 times for the best results.
