Most plastic is not recyclable. This includes
- most reusable plastic items,
- all plastics without a resin number (aka recycling number), and
- most plastics with numbers 3,4,6 & 7.
Assume your plastic item is not recyclable until you find proof it is: like by searching Recyclopedia.sg. If in doubt, throw it out.

Note that plastic numbers do NOT mean a plastic is recyclable even if it is inside a little “recycling triangle”. Plastic numbers simply indicate what kind of plastic an item is made of.
For this reason, we don't like calling these “recycling numbers” (which is misleading) and prefer to use the proper term: resin number.
