Eyes for Earth is a take-back recycling programme for customers of Capitol Optical. If you get your contacts from them, they will take back the blister packs and get them recycled.
Previously, the program provided designated collection bags, but now you can use your own plastic bags to collect your blister packs. However, ensure that you separate plastic and foil into different bags.
Once you have bagged your collection, place the bags in the collection box provided at the boutique. If there is no box, hand it over to a staff member.
Accepted Items
It is interesting to note that they indicate they can recycle both the plastic and metal parts of the blister packs. Typically the foil is a multi-layer material of plastic bonded to aluminum which can't be recycled. Perhaps their blister pack foil is pure aluminum? We are intrigued…
