When you put glass or metal into the trash, 100% of its mass will end up at Semakau because these materials cannot be incinerated. In order to reduce the pressure on Semakau, please make an effort to rinse these items so they can be recycled.

Never put such oily materials in the recycling bin. They may contaminate other items.

These two materials are generally not worth the effort, soap, and water to clean. Paper can't be washed and plastic recycling rates are so low that cleaning it will not have a meaningful impact on its ability to get recycled. Likewise both of these incinerate well with little residual ash ending up in Semakau.
