Do not put in blue bin. If it is not convenient to recycle your clothes, put them in the trash.
Rip up old t-shirts and other cotton clothing for use as cleaning rags.
Tips & Suggestions
Clothes that are stained, smelly, or have signs of wear and tear should NEVER be given to charities.
Most charities raise funds from donated clothes by selling them to 2nd hand clothes dealers who will not accept them unless they are in good condition.
Yes beggars can be choosers when it comes to clothes: there is so much 2nd hand clothing in Singapore that less than 10% is accepted in the 2nd hand market. The rest ends up incinerated.
Don't put the burden of waste disposal on charities. Only give them the items they request in the condition they request.
