Note that we make a distinction here between what is “technically recyclable” and “actually recycled” (more on that here).
It is possible to recycle pure EVOH-PE in industrial quantities. However as “post-consumer waste” (the stuff individuals throw into a recycling bin), it is virtually impossible to distinguish it from other similar film plastics. Because of this technical difficulty, it will not get recycled.
Likewise, EVOH is often just one layer of multi-layer packaging which is also not recyclable. More on that here.
Food Vacuum bags are often made of PE EVOH. So are pet little bags and diaper trash bags due to it's ability to insulate from odors.
