Batteries and Bulbs Bins

Info

Got a battery or bulb to be recycled? ALBA E-Waste has stationed more than 500 e-Bins across Singapore. See link to map below.

These bins can be found in public areas such as town centres, shopping malls, government buildings, Residents’ Committee Centres, community centres, supermarkets and retail outlets.

In shopping centers, look for the batteries and bulbs bins in the large grocery stores like Cold Storage, Fairprice & Sheng Siong.

In some other locations (eg Decathalon) you may find the tall cylindrical “batteries only” bins.

The general rule of thumb is that any large store (>300 square metres) should take back the “same class or type of consumer product” of regulated e-waste that it sells.

Hence batteries and bulbs at grocery stores; IT equipment at electronics stores.

Accepted Items

Household batteries (AA, AAA, AAAA, D, C, 9-volt, and Button Cell only).

Bulbs (aka lamps) of all types. Many locations (but not all) also accept long fluorescent tubes.

Important! For safety, please ensure bulbs are well wrapped to avoid breakage.  Leaking batteries should be put in a sealable plastic bag.
