IMPORTANT: remove all metal and plastic before adding to garden waste. Garden waste is ONLY for plant material.
Flowers cannot be recycled in the blue bin but if they are put in garden waste, they may get composted or sent to special waste to energy facilities.

These days it is harder to donate used fresh flowers to nursing homes and hospices because of pandemic concerns.
If you do find a charity willing to accept your flower donation, be prepared to pay for additional costs (transport, manpower) so that the recipient does not end up with a financial burden.
